Car Rental Term Sumbawa Transport Service
Sumbawa Transport Service – Rental Terms & Conditions
The renter must present a valid Driver’s License (SIM or an international driving permit where applicable) along with a valid ID card (KTP) or passport.
The full rental fee (100%) must be paid before the vehicle is handed over.
Late returns will incur an additional charge of 10% of the daily rental rate for each hour of delay.
Vehicles may not be taken outside Sumbawa Island without prior written approval from Sumbawa Transport Service.
Cancellations made by the renter are subject to a 50% cancellation fee based on the total rental amount within cancellation less than 2 days.
Driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any intoxicating substances is strictly prohibited.
The renter is responsible for returning the vehicle in the same condition as it was received, excluding normal wear and tear.
Before returning the vehicle, renters should ensure they have removed all personal belongings. Sumbawa Transport Service is not responsible for any items left inside the vehicle after the rental period has ended.

Insurance Coverage
All rental vehicles include basic insurance coverage with:
Maximum coverage: Up to Rp 10,000,000 per accident, including third-party liability.
Insurance excess (deductible): Rp 800,000 per accident, payable by the renter.
Damage Not Covered by Insurance
The following items and types of damage are not covered by the vehicle’s insurance and are the responsibility of the renter:
Damage to tyres or wheels.
Broken or damaged mirrors.
Scratches, dents, or body damage caused by the renter.
Damage to headlights, taillights, or other vehicle lights.
Minor collision damage to the front or rear of the vehicle.
The renter is responsible for the actual cost of repair or replacement for any uninsured damage incurred during the rental period.
Any repair costs exceeding the insurance coverage or not covered by the insurance policy remain the responsibility of the renter.
In the Event of an Accident, Theft, or Damage
If you are involved in an accident, theft, or any incident involving the rental vehicle, you must:
Contact Sumbawa Transport Service immediately using the emergency contact number provided in your rental agreement or on our website.
Report the incident as soon as possible on the same day. Delayed reporting may affect insurance coverage and assistance.
Follow our instructions regarding the vehicle and, if required, the filing of a police report.
Our team will assist you throughout the process and provide guidance where possible.
Exclusions from Insurance Coverage
The insurance will be considered void, and the renter will be fully responsible for all repair, replacement, recovery, and related costs if the vehicle is operated:
By a person not listed as an authorized driver in the rental agreement.
Without a valid driver’s license.
By a driver under the legal driving age.
Under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or other intoxicating substances.
In a reckless, negligent, or unlawful manner.
In violation of the rental agreement or Indonesian law.
In these circumstances, the rental agreement may be terminated immediately without refund.
Foreign Visitors
Foreign visitors are strongly advised to carry a valid passport and an appropriate driver’s license (including an International Driving Permit where required) while driving in Indonesia.
In the event of a traffic accident, local authorities will determine liability in accordance with Indonesian law. Sumbawa Transport Service cannot guarantee the outcome of any police investigation or legal proceedings.
Vehicle Documents (STNK)
Each vehicle is provided with its original STNK (Vehicle Registration Certificate), which must remain inside the vehicle at all times as required by Indonesian law.
If the STNK is lost or damaged during the rental period, the renter will be charged a replacement fee of Rp 200,000.
Lost Car Keys
Replacement charges for lost vehicle keys are:
Standard car key: Rp 350,000
Remote key/fob: Rp 500,000
Additional costs may apply if key programming, towing, or lock replacement is required.
